Test Security

2009-11-02

The content of this new section lays out expectations and accountability for both parties involved (test provider and test user) but, more importantly it guides HR advisors through some of the important steps to enhance test security.

PPC has also created a self-assessment questionnaire that once completed, can be used as a reference tool. It was specifically developed for HR advisors involved directly in test ordering and test administration. It is not a mandatory questionnaire but we encourage HR advisors to take the self-assessment exercise as it provides answers to very specific questions, including some questions related to test administration. As a reference tool, it may be used to refresh one’s memory on test security matters before a test session or to find out who to contact in case of a test security breach.

Also, modifications to existing working tools as well as updated procedures have been put in place in order to reinforce the security surrounding test material:

  • the order form (PSC 3307) has been modified and will be in use effective November 1st, 2009. Additional information is now required in order to better follow who is in possession of the test material;
  • the administration manuals used for test administration have been updated and a page is dedicated to the importance of protecting the integrity of test material;
  • the Security and Accountability Checklist is a new form that accompanies the order form (PSC 3307). To receive the material ordered, the HR advisor must complete, sign and send this new form along with the order form.
