Index Of PSC Assessment Tools

General Information

  • Test order form and instructions are available on the Internet at:
    http://extranet.psc-cfp.gc.ca/ppc-cpp/admin_manuals/admin_manuals-eng.htm
  • No test can be rewritten within the same appointment process.
  • Candidates can rewrite a test only after the retest period has elapsed. The most recent score then becomes the only valid result.
  • Scores are valid for an indefinite period of time and managers usually accept previous test results. However, managers have the prerogative to request candidates to rewrite if the retest period, where applicable, has elapsed. Exception: GIT 310, GIT 320 - manager must accept previous results.
  • The Minimum Pass Mark is the lowest pass mark that may be used for a test. Managers should set a higher pass mark according to their needs. Managers' guides for setting pass marks are available for many PSC tools. To obtain advice and assistance regarding the setting of the pass mark, please call 613-992-9741. Note that for the GIT 310 and GIT 320, the pass mark is set and cannot be altered.
  • External candidates can be assessed on the tests referred to below only within the context of an appointment process in the Federal Government of Canada.
  • The PPC determines test accommodations for all PSC tools for candidates with disabilities. You must contact the PPC Consultation Services at (613) 992-9741.
  • There should be a good fit between a department's Statement of Merit Criteria and the qualification(s) measured by the tool(s) selected.

Note: The following index includes general guidelines regarding the use of PSC tests. Any exceptions must be approved by the PPC Consultation Services at (613) 992-9741.
