For the purpose of national area of selection (NAOS) in the federal public service, officer-level jobs include those involved in scientific and professional, administration and technical functions. Examples of these include biologists, commerce officers and statisticians. Officer-level jobs exclude executives.
The following tables outline the occupational groups and levels considered to be officer-level for the purposes of establishing NAOS in external recruitment as determined by the Commission.
