Accountability
Under the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA), the Public Service Commission (PSC) has the responsibility for ensuring that public service organizations meet the accountability requirements and expectations the PSC has established. To this end, the PSC has developed the following tools and guides.

- Accountability Policy
Describes how the PSC will hold deputy heads accountable for the exercise of their delegated appointment authorities.

The PSC has updated its definitions of organization size. These definitions are being used for the 2011-2012 Departmental Staffing Accountability Reports. These categories also better align with those used by Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat in the assessment of the People component of the Management Accountability Framework.
- Definitions of organization size based on number of employees:
- Large - 2 000 or more employees
- Medium - between 500 and 1 999 employees
- Small - between 100 and 499 employees
- Micro - 99 or fewer employees

Provides statistical analyses of federal public service hiring and staffing activities for departments and agencies that staff under the Public Service Employment Act. (Available to federal public servants only)
