This letter is to inform you of the recent changes made to the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) Web site on the mobility provision for former ministers’ staff. This provision, for which the PSC has retained the authority to confirm eligibility, allows certain former ministers’ staff to participate in internal advertised appointment processes open to all employees of the public service.

On the PSC Web site, under Mobility provision for former ministers’ staff you will find:

  • Procedures for requesting confirmation of eligibility from the PSC, including an updated Request Form – Confirmation of Former Ministers’ Staff Mobility Provision which now reflects the inclusion of sick leave in the calculation of the three-year qualifying period;
  • Frequently Asked Questions; and
  • Information about the mobility provision for former ministers’ staff including new wording such as “mobility provision” and “letter of confirmation”.

This letter replaces the Letter to Heads of Human Resources 08-23 entitled “Procedures related to the Mobility Right of Former Ministers’ Staff” which has been archived.
