The Public Service Commission (PSC) provides a range of information products in both printed and electronic formats. The most frequently requested publications are available on-line.
The PSC Library collection contains almost 12,000 books, reports, government documents, and approximately 160 periodical titles, available for loan to all PSC employees and outside the Commission via interlibrary loans.
The PSC has published an information kit that highlights the new roles and services of the Public Service Commission, as well as key features of the Public Service Employment Act.

The purpose of the research project was to determine, under the current Public Service Employment Act (PSEA), whether applicants who voluntarily provide their self-declared employment equity (EE) information, are eliminated ('dropped-off') at a greater rate than applicants in the reference group and, if so, at what stages of the recruitment process.
- Performance Metrics and Benchmarking PSEA (March 2009)
Deloitte & Touche was commissioned to conduct a benchmarking study to identify common and relevant performance measures that could serve as potential international benchmarking criteria and to validate the PSC’s leading and evaluation indicators.
- A Literature Review on the Evolution of the Concept of Merit in Public Service: Canadian and Comparative Perspectives (March 2009)
Professor Kenneth Kernaghan was commissioned by the PSC to conduct a review of the documentation on the concept of merit. The objective was to explore the concept of merit and its implications in Canadian and international public administration. Various models of merit and their organizational implications were identified by drawing upon current and historical literature, as well as associated government documentation.

Following the Horizontal Strategic Review of Human Resources, the PSC initiated an independent review of its oversight activities. The mandate of the Independent Review Committee (IRC) was to determine the appropriateness of the approach and level of effort of the PSC’s oversight function and to identify areas of improvement.
