This year's Post-secondary Recruitment (PSR) campaign is drawing higher interest than ever as it prepares to administer tests on behalf of over 18 departments and agencies with more than 57 career choices up for grabs.
"This is the highest level of interest we have seen to date and it is satisfying to see federal organizations making use of our staffing services such as the PSR campaign ," said Cindy Clark, Program Manager, Post-secondary Recruitment. "It is not only cost-effective but also a rapid staffing solution that removes the hiring managers from behind the 8-ball and puts them well ahead in their staffing processes."
"Last year’s campaign attracted over 55 000 applications from people looking for jobs. We are anticipating more applicants this year because more and more graduates are looking for jobs. With the increased number of career choices this year, we can also say that more and more departments and agencies are looking to hire new graduates."
While the PSR offers hiring flexibility through its year-round general inventory typically containing over 7 000 applicants, the fall campaign in particular allows hiring managers to make offers to students before they graduate. The benefits of hiring graduates are now known – it contributes to an organization's succession and retention plans.
The PSC's annual Post-secondary Recruitment program is used to recruit, on behalf of federal organizations, university and college graduates to entry-level positions.
